At 85 years old, Bill should be able to feel safe in his own home. Instead, he is facing declining health, profound grief, and living conditions he can no longer manage alone.

With permission, Livo Foundation is honored to share Bill's story and invite our community to stand beside him during this difficult chapter.

Bill lives alone on a very limited income that barely covers his rent and essential living expenses. In recent years, his health has declined significantly. Glaucoma is gradually taking away his eyesight, while vertigo has made ordinary tasks — and simply moving safely around his home — increasingly difficult.

As his physical condition has worsened, maintaining his home has become more than Bill can handle.

His toilet leaks and must be manually shut off after every use. His stove has only one working burner. The yard has become severely overgrown because he is no longer physically able to maintain it. Despite these unsafe conditions, Bill is afraid to report the problems to his landlord. He fears losing the only home he has, with nowhere else to go.

Bill is also carrying a devastating personal loss. On his 85th birthday, his last surviving sibling passed away. Because of his health and financial circumstances, he was unable to visit her. He is now facing that grief while continuing to endure these challenges largely on his own.

Everyone who knows Bill describes him as a kind, humble, and gentle man — someone who rarely asks for help and has always tried to make the best of what he has.

Bill is not asking for luxury. He simply needs a safe and functional home, basic stability, and the comfort of knowing that he does not have to face this alone.
